Foundational Program

Purpose:

Introduce learners to the core theories, values, and practices of Positive Psychology in a structured, supportive environment.

Description:

At the Foundational level, learners are introduced to the basic building blocks of Positive Psychology. Programs focus on cultivating an understanding of core concepts such as wellbeing, flourishing, subjective well-being, character strengths, meaning, gratitude, and positive emotions. Instruction is delivered in an engaging, reflective format that blends theory with personal insight and experiential learning.

The primary goal is to equip learners with skills and strategies that foster wellbeing and intellectual curiosity. Participants are introduced to simple, research-backed tools—such as journaling, mindfulness, gratitude practices, and strengths-spotting—that they can apply in their own lives. Programs also initiate the development of self-awareness and practical insight into how evidence-based tools can support personal flourishing.

Crucially, foundational programs begin the conversation around ethical practice, emphasizing psychological safety, cultural humility, and respect for individual and cultural values. This level is ideal for individuals seeking personal growth, those new to the field, or professionals exploring Positive Psychology as an add-on to their primary discipline.
